Why arnt the calipers M50d in blue like other high powered diesel or petrol models? I saw a 435d with them today looked the bollocks!

So my question is has anyone painted theirs or something similar.

Blue calipers on the 3 series is part of the M pack.

You can have blue calipers on the 50d if you’ve got a spare £2000 odd to spend on upgrades brakes!

Hi

A few on here have painted them with calliper paint whether spray or brushed and it's not bad but they need cleaning first and come out pretty well, but the paint needs to cope with the heat.

Also some car tuning modification places can do it for you but check prices, there are also brake specialists can offer it also.

I agree we have one Abarth with red calipers and another without painted brakes and it doesn't look as good, and if we keep that car then the brake calipers are going to be painted this year as it does look better. On the BMW my ones are painted blue as did our previous 135i.

I ended up painting my callipers over the Easter weekend before putting on the summer tyres.
I was not happy with how the standard grey callipers just seemed to weather badly especially over the weekend and in the end I finally succumbed to doing the work.
Three coats of calliper paint and they look so much better and much easier to clean now. I must admit I ended up applying the M decals (some of you may not agree) but IMO they help improve the look.
I went for Electric Blue Pearl (Heat Resistant) bought on Amazon with the decals and clear varnish.
I did enquire about having them done professionally but the only place I found were in Nottingham where I had to leave the car for 48 hours - not practical being based in London. They were charging around £400.
If you want I can post more photos tomorrow but not so good ones attached.

Those look really good painted, I wish I'd done mine when I swapped my winter wheels off a couple of weeks ago.

Thanks!
Patience is needed but IMO worth the effort.
