Changing Brake Pads

Post by BullyB » Wed May 09, 2018 9:39 pm

Sorry if I have failed at searching... I didn’t find anything

I just ordered new pads for my F15 and wondered if anyone can tell me if there are any particular special tools or procedures?

I have done many pad changes on other cars but don’t have much time on my hands so need to be prepared.

BMW want £500 to do them  ::)
F15 for the dogs, 996 C4S for road trips, Defender for the mud & E36 M3 for the track

As a heads up, my trolly jack won’t lift mine at the rear! So, that’ll be the first thing to check. Secondly, if wheels have not been off in a while - they are a pig to get off!

From a previous invoice, the parts are:
#34216768471: Brake pads 142.61 euro
# 34356854168: Wear sensor 23.52 euro
# 10000614: Service (fixed) 78.00 euro

Total: 295.40 euro

Mine needs doing soon, so curious to see if the price has gone up.
