As promised, a short introduction to my new car. I'm not totally sure what is as standard on an X5M so I might list things below which all of them have but here goes:

Model: F85 X5 M S63 4.4
Colour: Donnington Grey Metallic
Upholstery: Black Full Merino Leather

Options (in no particular order):

21" Black 612M Double Spoke Wheels
Universal Remote Control
Comfort Access
Carbon Fibre Interior Trim
Four Zone A/C
Panoramic Sunroof
Sun Protection Glass
Surround View
Park Assist
Auxiliary Heating with Remote
Apple Car Play
Bang & Olufsen Advanced Audio
Anthracite Alcantara Headlining
Active Security Pack
Rear Seat Entertainment Pack
Cold Weather Pack (Rear Seat Heating & Heated Steering Wheel)
Adaptive LED Headlights
WiFi Hotspot
TV Function

I might have missed some items, so just ask...

I'm just getting it Paint Corrected and having a 5 Year Ceramic System carried out on it, so I'll get photo's from that and put them up.

Wow - epic spec.

I've been looking at a few of these recently. Looking forward to the pics :-)

If you're able to PM the numbers I'd be very interested too! (fully understand if you don't want to.)

What a great spec. Congratulations on the new car
Donnington Grey is a great colour and I'm 99% sure a X5M is going to be my next car - just waiting for the right AUC car to come up

How are you finding it?
And dare I ask, what's is like on fuel around town?

If you make the X5M your next car, you will not be disappointed.

I have only driven it a little, as I'm currently working overseas, but the few days I got with it were great. Really refined and comfortable, with an animal under the bonnet if you needed it.

Fuel consumption doesn't matter with a car like this... but I was getting about the same as I got out of the M5, so around 18mpg (not too dissimilar to my 4.8is E53 either).

I can get 25mpg out of my M at a steady 70mph.

But it doesn't happen very often :D :D

Usually around 15-18 mpg.......

Yes, when it was dropped off after a cruise up the motorway it was showing 25.4mpg... so not too bad if you take it easy.

While the consumption is a bit 'fruity' , the really annoying thing about the car is the limited range, in mine usually about 300 miles.
You get used to garage forecourts.....

Hi

Nice spec on the M, esp the B&O system and full leather definitely rare.

There not much worse on petrol than the 4.4 or 4.6 or even the 4.8, you really don't use most of the power all of the time.

Look forward to pics

Thanks for the replies folks

I have had a few different V8's previously and it was more trying to work out with the weight of the X5M is it closer to 10/12 mpg v say 18/20 mpg around town, as mine would be mainly used for local driving?
I've seen as high as 30mpg once or twice on longer runs in previous V8s but boy was it boring

Also do you chaps find the engine 'vocal' enough? Anybody tried/have an alternative exhaust?

Sorry OP for going OT on your post, the insta pictures look great though

Definitely not down at 10/12mpg figures... I've used mine mainly for local, and like I've said its not too dissimilar to my M5 or the 4.8 X5.

For now the exhaust is good enough. The notes can't be heard as well in the cabin as they could in the M5, but it still makes a nice noise externally. I might want to do something with this in the future - perhaps an Akra or similar.
