New X4 ordered

Post by touring » Mon Oct 27, 2014 7:19 pm

Well there we go, orderd a 30d M sport X4 today from a dealer that actually wanted my business!
I had to travel out of my area as the two local dealerships were very poor.

I was offered almost 20% more for my X5 40d so worth the trip, expected delivery late December.

I have loved my four years with the X5, but I wonder how many people would bother to travel to buy a new BMW?
BMW UK should seriously look at their dealers, Audi, Lexus and Mercedes all wanted my business but my local BMW dealers clearly did not make any effort, after 20 consecutive years of purchase. Clearly not all BMW dealers are the same, so my advice is - shop around!

I think you are the first on here to order one.

What spec gave you gone for?

Looking forward to seeing the pics and hearing your views.  I always shop around when buying and although I live in Northern Ireland I got the X6 from Worcester.  Mix of best trade in, descent customer service and decent spec car.

30d M sport, White, black leather,  19" wheels, fine line anthracite wood trim, pro media, mem seats, folding mirrors, high beam assist, tow bar, privacy glass and 5 year service pack. I think that it.

As I said, I love the X5 but I don't need something that big and as I have only completed 16k miles in four years, the depreciation is 'hurendus', mine plus £36,500 was just too much. The X4 is over £10,000 cheaper - so I will give it a go.

I will let you know progress and my thought once I get it.

Now been given a build date of week 49, so next week, with an anticipated delivery of the third week of January.

Does anyone know if/how to track it's progress on line?

Yes you can track your build.  You will need the VIN from the Dealer, which they can tell you once the build starts.

You can then follow as per post #2 on this thread from when I found how to track mine.
