365 days in.........

Post by StuBeeDoo » Mon Jun 24, 2019 6:20 pm

Well, it's a year ago today that I collected my X3. :D

11634 miles at an average of 36.1mpg. When I made the decision to buy an X3, I told myself I'd be happy as long as the fuel consumption was within 5mpg of my old E46 330d. It's actually 4.7mpg worse than the 330d, so I can't complain about that.

My only complaint about the car is the Pirelli tyres. They're rubbish in the wet. They've still got 3.5mm on them, and IIRC they had 5mm when I bought the car, so it looks like I'll be putting-up with them for a while longer. :( ................Unless I get impatient.

Just thought I'd share............... :)

It’s a heavy beast and as aerodynamic as a breeze block so that’s not bad for a 3.0L lump.

I had Pirelli’s on my last Škoda and wet grip wasn’t wonderful on that. I do have Pirelli winter tyres that are much better, but for dry I might use Conti’s (as our E46 330d is shod with) or Bridgestone again.
:ant: Never anthropomorphise computers. They hate that.

I have Pirelli winters as well. Like you, I find them OK.

As there is a limited choice of * marked tyres in 225/60x17, and I don't want to buy yet another set of wheels to go up to 18s, I'm going to take a chance on Avons when the time finally arrives.
