Tailgate Stuck/ Does not open

Hi All,

I have F25 X3 2014, recently it has developed a problem with Tailgate, so I am looking for guidance or a solution.

The tailgate has powered button to close it down, as you all know. Last night I pushed it to shut it down, after doing groceries, and while the gate was being closed down, my younger Son pushed the button again and the operation was intercepted, so I had to reopen the it and closed it.

Next day I tried to open the tailgate it didn’t; I tried too many time through key button, internal button and the back latch but couldn’t open it
When I push the button to open it, I can hear the noise of servo motor but the door does not get released from the locking mechanism.

Is it a mechanical failure? If yes is there any way to open the tailgate manually?

Or is it an electronic control failure, which needs resetting the error or replacing any instrument / sensor?

Regards

Can you get to the battery by dropping the seats....try the magic reset...disconnect it for 20 minutes minimum...

I don't know how to do that, is it under the driving seat?

No it's under the boot floor right at the back of the car.
Google will show you how.

Just checked in my owner's manual. It says..............
In the case of electrical defect, operate the unlocked tailgate manually, proceeding slowly and avoiding sudden movements.
and concludes.....
