Adaptive headlight problem

Post by Davemch87 » Thu Sep 07, 2017 9:46 pm

Hi everyone new to this site. Recently purchased my first beemer. Been having problems with the adaptive headlights. I thought my beams were too long so adjusted them a bit higher. Since then they keep coming down and I presume this has something to do with the automatic headlight function. The problem I'm having is my beams seem to be pointing towards the passenger side of the road. I think I may have adjusted the horizontal beam but having tried to fix I'm getting nothing. Any reply would be greatly appreciated. Cheers. Dave

May be worth checking the level sensors, mounted behind the front struts
The only successful way to set the headlamps will be with a beam setter at a garage or Mot station otherwise it's guess work
The old tried and tested method is to drive up to a wall in the dark with lights on and adjust the beam by line of sight though you've lost the initial reference it'll be guess work going forward
