Vehicle tax?

Post by weirdfish » Sun Jan 20, 2019 5:03 pm

Just trying to find out what the road tax is now on these beasts, (4.6/4.8), according to the dvla website it looks like £555, but autotrader has it lower than that.

On an E53, the tax rates didn't alter when the changes were made in 2017 for newer vehicles.

I had a look at the gov.uk site and all you need to do is look at your V5 for the CO2 emissions and you can check your level.

It may be £555 is your emissions are officially that high - depending on when it was registered if you look at the asterisk next to the K level.

Mine for a 3.0 petrol is £305 as it also has LPG which I get a £10 a year discount.

That’s good news as I’m off to look at a 4.6 beast tomorrow, not sure why I’m worried as it will drink the fuel like it’s going out of fashion.
Good job it’s got lpg to help out a bit

Out of interest how did you get the £10 off for LPG. Years ago I tried and was informed that because it switched between the two I would be charged at the higher rate.

I didn't fit it so can't say for definite. It has been registered as an "alternative fuel vehicle" on the V5, so whoever owned it at the time must have reregistered it as that.
The LPG was fitted by a professional unit and was certified.
