Mud Flaps with Le Mans arches

Post by Otto-Mate » Tue Aug 03, 2010 5:18 pm

Asked this on the old board but still unsure... Are there 2 different types of mudflaps, ones for standard arches and ones for extended Le Mans / v8 style ones? The ones I've seen on narrow arches don't look like they'd fit my Le Mans.

Thanks

M.

Mud Flaps with Le Mans arches

Post by jeegnesh » Tue Aug 03, 2010 7:37 pm

If I'm not wrong the mud flaps don't got the wide arches. I know prefers had to take his off when doing the wide arches. Sure he'll be along in a mo to confirm.

Le Mans or wide arch kits will not allow standard mud flaps to fit. There are none that fit the wide arch kit.

It is a kind of skinny mud flap...

Not ideal but nothing out there aftermarket either. Not that I found - besides, Pewters would have found it first!

I also looked for mud flaps for my 4.8is and there wasn't any! I really think that the mudflaps suit the car, I also had them on my 530d and I thought they looked great. As for the thought that the wider arches do the job - they don't do much at all.

I have got used to seeing mine now without them and it looks ok... they would have to be bloody wide mud flaps for the back wheels!!

Yeah, I live in country and can't keep the car clean in winter for more than 5 mins on our roads :-/

We could have found a niche here! I can't see that it would be too difficult to modify a set of the mudflaps to fit with the arch kit and then once they look right... Have a company take a pattern and start blasting them out of their Injection Moulding machine! I'm sure that there is plenty of demand for this around the world!

Peter Jones watch out!

Mud Flaps with Le Mans arches

I'm not sure they would look right anyway as they would hide the extended arch......just my opinion

Yeah you're right Pewters... to be honest i'm far too lazy to start looking into catching up with Peter Jones! The car will just have to get dirty!
