Bad day
Re: Bad day
I've had 2 nails in 3 months and the last was on a brand new 21 inch rear tyre ,luckily it was repairable unlike yours
Re: Bad day
Interestingly the tyres have got Tyre Safe in them and it still went down, as an experiment I layed the tyre at an angle for a few hours before taking the screw out but the hole didn’t seal and nothing except air came out. Because of the size and having to wait for tyres to arrive I have experimented with one of those puncture repair kits where you ream out the hole and then push the thick sticky thread like stuff through the hole, been in there two days without any loss of air. Very impressed and certainly something I will carry on the vehicle as a get you home piece of kit. For £10 well worth carrying. Obviously you need a compressor to blow the tyre up.
Re: Bad day
I have used that black rope kit in the past but i had forgotten until i looked at your post.
The tyre i did it on was on my e46 when i first got it but i changed wheels.
The old wheels went to my sisters stable and she put them on her car about a year ago and all 4 had wind in them and still in use today.
Must look for the kit in my shed i am sure i still have it.

Re: Bad day
A puncture repair at the edge is a bad idea with all the flexing of the sidewall it will fail sooner later.
Re: Bad day
I agree Leslie, it’s just a temporary measure until tyres arrive.
Re: Bad day
That's good just saying as many years ago I had a tyre with a screw right on the edge of tread repaired as it was a near new Pirelli and about 1000 mile later the patch came of causing rapid deflation ,tyre came of the bead on a roundabout cornering hard and I was very lucky not to crash.
