As per title really, what's the best battery for a 4.6, and who's doing the best deals at the moment.

I have a Yuasaa 100 ah 900cca fitted, have had for 2 years, does what it’s supposed to.

Tayna do some quite good deals. When mine finally gives up I will look at Exide, Yuasa and Bosch AGMs.

Even with discount ECP are pricy - currently 40% off but do sometimes offer 50% deals with very short ‘life’ on the deal - two days or two hours on occasions.

Halfords offer a 4-yr warrantied battery for reasonable cost.

Needs to be a decent battery, it's going under the gas tank so I don't want to be taking it out again for a few years, those tanks are bloody heavy, and then there's the expense of getting the system checked for leaks etc afterwards.

Even with their discount code carparts4less will be cheaper than ECP.

And probably be in an ECP box. :D

Isn’t CP4L the discounted bit of ECP? It sure looks the same. Never looked until this evening and immediately thought one looks like tother.... which may just make me late to the party of course

Yes, it’s online only so as long as you can wait for post it’s cheaper. Bit of forward planning needed.

Put a Bosch S5 019 in mine from memory, from ECP when they were doing one of their proper discounts - not the ones that are on every day, you need to be on the mailing list and not in a rush!

one thing I always think of with batteries and warranties is that if you get it from ECP or Halfords it’s dead easy to return and the staff are fairly disinterested and willing to exchange them.
