Hello all, I have a 2004 E53 4.8is. I've read numerous threads on adding a wheel with SMG paddles but they all seem to relate to pre-facelift cars and recommend the E46 M3 SMG paddle wheel. So I have 2 questions:

- can anyone please confirm the e46 M3 SMG wheel works on an LCI car?
- is there a different SMG wheel I can fit instead?

Ideally I'd use a different wheel as I already have a car with an E46 M3 wheel and I'd like something more modern.

Yes you can for the E46 SMG wheel as I did a number of years ago. Mines a ‘54 4.8is.

Just need the slip ring wheel and run the wiring to the gearbox.

I liked it but ended up swapping it out for anheated wheel instead which you can reuse the same slip ring.

Unsure if it’s possible to fit a newer style wheel.

Cheers Raj. In that case I think I'll stick a CSL wheel on. Or get Royal to re-trim me an M3 SMG wheel in the same style.
