Swapping 19" to 21" wheels query

Can anyone help or offer advise regarding a arch extension kit I have been told I need to fit with a new set of 21" wheels. I have searched the internet and cannot find the answer.

First off this extension kit is not wider arches ( I own the msport model already with flared arches). These are just 2 small pieces of plastic and I cannot for the life of me work out 1 - where they fit and 2- for the life of me what they will actually do when fitted.

I have attached a couple of pics and hopefully someone can guide me in the right directions.

Hi I dont think you need them on the M sport , I am sure they are for the Se version but some one else will correct me shortly !

Give me the part number and I will ask one of my mates in the parts department what they are for or needed , half of them are clueless and should not be in the job .

No mate, I was dealing with Ian and in fairness he was really good with everything and send me the info he had but still nothing clear regarding fixing and what they actually achieve.

I was hoping someone had actually installed these and could have uploaded a picture but any info you can find out would be appreciated.

A picture of them fitted on my x5, with the same wheels as you are looking at.
Have noticed with the 21" wheels a lot of muck and tar etc gets thrown up on the sills and bottom of the doors, so looking at if its possible to fit mud flats, alternatively may look at doing the opposite to you and move to 19" or 20" wheels as that appears to reduce the amount of crap thrown up on the doors, as noted when I had the 19" winters on.

Had 20's on my e70 and rear doors, rear arches and sill end all still take a hammering as the tyres are almost as wide.

That's worth knowing, so will have a look at width and designs of 19" wheels.

Cheers mate, but the ones I have are only about 3" long and are no wider than the 'M Sport' arches already fitted to the car.
