CTec charger

Post by Themoog2 » Tue May 12, 2020 9:21 am

What's the best smart charger for my E53 4.4?
My battery was flat again this morning so I'm going to invest.
I dont want to have to disconnect the battery every time tho - is that possible with a smart charger?

I use a CTEK MXS 5.0 Fully Automatic Battery Charger 12V, 5 Amp, that works very well on my 40d x5, using the jump start points under the bonnet, no need to disconnect the battery.

I use CTEK as well and bought their eyelet kit (8mm) so that I can just connect the charger in seconds. I just put it on the +ve in the jump point and the -ve under the bolt on the chassis. The kit has an LED tell-tale (traffic light) and is fused.

I have an MXS-10 for rapid charging and the older 3.8A version that is used all winter to keep the E46 battery in good nick. It can be left connected all the time as it’s a smart charger. The eyelet kits are fitted to all of our cars.

Eh up all,

Ctek is cracking, rig it up with the traffic light ctek quick coupler and permanatley install it, works a treat on my e53, swear by it.

Sure I did a tread on what I did with mine

HTH
