Hello people,
The two little 7" wide grilles.... one each side of the E53 bumper....
Mine have gone brittle & fallen to pieces.... do these have a particular name so I can buy some more on ebay possibly, or anyone got a pair going spare ?
Also, can they be fitted without removing the bumper from the front of the vehicle ?

Check www.realoem.com for the part numbers, then search for the parts you need

Item 9 perhaps?

I used my VIN from my 2004 build (yes I am sad enough to remember the last 7) to pull up a car.
I have a nasty feeling you need to get behind to get at them though. I thought they were metal until I broke one!

Never anthropomorphise computers. They hate that.
Re: Little grilles in bumper
The e53 bumper is easy to remove the only problem area is the little bolts underneath at the front, however if these wont undo due to rust you can force pull the bumper down and replace the grilles, bit limited space but can be done, two people required or a wedge to keep the bumper down....got the T-shirt for this one

Re: Little grilles in bumper
I managed to remove the old & refit the new grille without removing the bumper...
The grille insert has sideways hooks to unclip the part, so it can be removed by sliding sideways - ensure you have a grip with some long nosed pliers & tease it out.
Refitting is a little more fiddley, but I'm sure it's easier than removing the front bumper ...
