Power Reduction on Traction Loss

Post by X5-D-Sport » Thu Apr 01, 2021 10:48 pm

Hello People,

When it was snowing last time - a month or so ago or abouts here in the UK, a bunch of us local idiots decided it would be great fun to go Drifting" around a rural remote roundabout near us...

The audi TT Quattos did amazingly well, & a guy in a V8 Discovery of about year 2000 had a great time too.
3 of had X5s that started well for about 3 feet, & our fun was halted by some programming that ensures proper traction & drops the engine revs & power to achieve this.
All we wanted to do was to go hell-for-leather around this roundabout & fling snow all over the place....

All 3 of us X5 owners did was a nice sedate & orderly trundle around...... much to the complete amusement of the Audi owners there, who were having a great time.

Is there a way to disable this intelligent traction control and allow for FUN ?

Doesn't holding the traction control button for a few seconds turn it off and fix your drifting problem.
Never get enough snow here to play like that :( :(

A short press of the DSC button puts you in ‘snow mode’ and longer press turns the system off. A long press turns it back on again. Not sure if (like Airbus aircraft) there isn’t a ‘nanny mode’ that will take over if you try to be too much of a hooligan (enjoying yourself is not permitted) with the controls :P
:ant: Never anthropomorphise computers. They hate that.
