Door open Error message

Post by Imy » Fri Oct 24, 2014 4:51 pm

All,

I am getting door open error message on dash when all the doors are shut. I know its the passenger side door. The central locking on that door doesnt work, neither do the windows or the wing mirror controls. All electrics have cut.

I dont know what the issue could be, whether is a simple door sensor or something more serious.

Either way its pi$$ing me off.

any input appreciated.

i had that problem many years ago with a 325i e30, it was water ingress that had corroded the multiplug that connected all the doors wires to the car, turned out to be a common problem with the E30.
Haven't got my E53 anymore so can't go out and look if it's got a plug.
They normally have a plug so that the door can be removed from the car if needed, that's the first place I would look.
