Thinking ahead to March 2016

Post by snipez999 » Fri Oct 30, 2015 12:51 pm

Yes I'm still alive :-)
Have been thoroughly enjoying the Bentley for the last 19 months. A couple of minor niggles on suspension but dealer service top notch and all sorted with zero fuss (new front struts - ouch!)
Thinking ahead to next car in March 2016.
Any comments (constructive preferably!):

Buy another GTC V8S as there's a small cosmetic upgrade model out now

Mercedes CLS E63 AMG S. Worried about back end facing forwards most of the time when driving.....

Audi RS7. Same stable just robot finished as opposed to hand finished. Some reviews say uninspiring drive though.

BMW X6M. Loved my 2 X6s.

Curveball choice - Maserati (big engined one with 4 doors can't remember name). Build quality suspect

I don't want to drop performance when I change so sub 4.5 to 60 and quick mid range needed. Prefer 4 seater. Must accommodate golf clubs AND trolley in boot not having half my wet kit poking me in the ribs when driving.

Cheers
Robin

As amazing as the X6M is , I think I'd go for the RS7 . Better still , I'd have the RS6 (C7) .

The rs6/7 have made some pretty astonishing figures with a decat and map (750bhp+)  :))

Or you could think out side the box and get a fully loaded Tesla Model S P90D with the ludicrous upgrade.  0-60 in 2.8 seconds.  A little quicker than any of your current choices.

Hi
I'm not too sure if you are sticking with 4 seats or would go to 2 so a couple of ideas but the last is a bit pricey, but hey it's not my cash  ;)

You could go the Maserati Grand Cabrio routes it does look good and probably sounds even better, with some on YouTube
http://www.gpcars.co.uk/used-car-masera ... shift-5857

Or maybe a curve ball is a BMW i8 although 2 seats. However, this would satisfy the leaf part of our forum, which appears to be growing and dare I say it "branching out", sorry about that I know it didhurt typing that one.

Or a Wraith looks pretty tough in this set up but not a convertible ?

Or if you have been good then Santa maybe just maybe will bring you it's a stunning car a 918
http://www.gcmotors.co.uk/porsche-918-i ... re-4942408

Hope that helps, and here I am deliberating about wether to go for head up displays and pan roofs on an E70

Anyhow good luck with whichever one you get  :)

Test drove a Tesla P85D today.

At traffic lights towards M1 chappy said 'just floor it and see how it moves', and I did!

Freakin hell the feel of that silent 3.1 sec to 60mph!!

Autopilot - adoptive cruise plus auto steers to stay in lane. Just flick the indicator stalk and it even changes lanes!

Pretty impressive I thought.. For first gen. Autonomous driving!

Geeky interior though, with a TV slapped on the dash instead of controls!!

Apart from the electric power, my Skoda does that for 1/3rd if the price!  And goes 600 miles between 'recharges'... :P  doesn't have quite the same off the line (I'm still running it in  ::) )

Lane guidance, adaptive cruise, traffic assist (cruise starts and stops the car in a queue), auto park - very spooky letting a car park itself, radar controlled distance warnings......ooh and possibly dodgy engine software for free >:(
