UPDATE

I wrote to the Service Manager and Head of Dealership and explained the problem, accompanied by a log of all the times it had failed. it was a good letter.

They have had it all this week, checked the wiring, reprogrammed it and still couldn't find the fault.
They came to drive it back to me and the doors wouldn't open! Result!
They have now traced the issue to the main module and are in the process of replacing that.

I will keep you posted.

Update

The Dealership have now had the X5 for 3 weeks, they can't fix it.
They are trying to replace the Main Module and program it from Germany!
