Rev's too high

Post by Worthing » Thu Nov 15, 2018 2:25 pm

This maybe of help to some people.

I have an facelift 04 model, 3.0 Diesel auto

It had taking too long to change gear (revving too high) and sometimes jumping when pulling off. Took it to a garage ( i don't usually go to) and they said needed a new auto gearbox they could do this for a bit over £1500 as long as i left original gearbox with them.

Gutted as only just got the thing!

Thought i would take it to my usual guy and he recommended changing the oil in the box and adding a new filter (£230) i thought it was worth a try ..... And it worked! lovely smooth gearbox and saved £1250!

Same as my e70 when i bought it recently ! , I do notice it holding revs quite high at low speed going up a short hill at times ,needs a prod on the gas to make it change up .
