Error Code Guidance needed please?

Post by Dibs » Thu Dec 20, 2018 1:23 pm

Just had my 2009 X5 E7 M-Sports Codes read and the following error codes came up:-

1. 4B1C Fuel Filter heating activation
2. 4B90 Rail Pressure Monitoring on engine start
3. 3FF1 Air mass Flow Sensor

Reset them and seems to have cleared for now.

However wanted to find out what caused them and if there is anything i can do to prevent any potential issues in future.

Any advise welcome and appreciated.

Thanks

Take it for approx 5 mile run then read again....they may well have been historic (not cleared when fixed)

Buy ISTA off eBay with cable and it will show you what the problem is and what you need to troubleshoot.
Do this if they come back. Dealer will do same and charge you £120 fee. eBay is £40 for life.

2. 4B90 Rail Pressure Monitoring on engine start
This one i got and it was down to leaking injectors.
A leak off test will tell you the bad one(s) if it comes back.
I had 2 bad in my car it started ok from cold but when hot if i turned it off and went to start it again it took ages to start but ok if left for 15/20 minutes.
