220,000 mile 4.8

Post by Paulpen » Mon Jan 28, 2019 9:58 pm

Thoughts on this as I'm tempted - heart says everything has been replaced by now but head says it's going to be a money pit :headbang:

Lots of service stamps but not alot of reciepts.

Nice clean MOTs

Hmmmmmm

Maybe I should just wait for a normal 4.8

Would depend on price for me. I've never been shy of mileage but it has to be the right price IMO.

Depends on the sort of mileage though if a lot of the mileage is motorway things might actually be less worn than a car with less miles which has been used for short trips around town.

For it's price and condition more than a number on the dash!

If it did get to negotiations I dont think the owner will go below £3800 in all honesty.

From what else is about thats roughly £1200 - £1600 cheaper than the rest so almost a third off.

Main concern if resale which i dont think it would so id have to break it and have no idea what they break for tbh :?

Wouldn't be cheap enough for me to consider at that money TBH, if something like this is only a grand or so more (after negotiating)

On a brighter note though there is a tidy 4.4 up the road, lots of history and friend of a friend.

Not a 4.8 though :fuelfire:

Anyone reckon that all the arches and wheels are out there for sale these days or just wait on a 4.8 ?

Plenty of cheap 4.4’s out there but I’d wait for what you want rather than settling for something and making it look like what you really want! I spent a fair old time waiting for the right carbon black 4.6 to come up, one things for sure - whatever you get you’ll end up pumping some money into it so you may as well take your time.
