Urgent help finding right spring for 2007 with adaptive drive

Post by Alchemist » Fri Feb 01, 2019 6:04 pm

I need some urgent help identifying and getting hold of the right front coil spring for my E70 3.0d with adaptive drive.

Euro Car Parts lists two (sport and non-sport) and I've bought both and supplied them with my car to my local garage which has the car on a ramp (as the current spring is broken) but neither fit.

They called BMW who've said it could be one of several. Does anyone know where I can track down the right one for this car? It's May built 2007, 7 seater.

RealOEM doesn't list a part number.

From searching online it seems to be the following part numbers:
OEM-Numbers
BMW 31 33 6 773 049,
BMW 6 773 049,
BMW 31 33 6 773 048,
BMW 6 773 048

Sachs: 31336773049

But some of these are listed on US sites as petrol only (not diesel).

Any help appreciated!

Thanks,
Andrew

Did you look on ebay? I just searched for your first part number on there and this came up: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2x-BMW-X5-E7 ... ctupt=true

I had a total failure of my rear Dynamic Drive on an old 6 series. Dealer was quoting over £3k for a repair, but I sourced all the parts on eBay for £900 and got my local garage to fit them for £200. Good as new :D :D :D

Thanks - yes. Managed to track one down.

Agree though on how much you can save, just been pricing up a drive shaft which is £500+ from BMW. EUSpares.com lists a Meyle one for £133!
