urgent help finding right spring for 2007 with adaptive drive

Post by Alchemist » Fri Feb 01, 2019 5:02 pm

Hi all,

I need some urgent help identifying and getting hold of the right front coil spring for my E70 3.0d with adaptive drive.

Euro Car Parts lists two (sport and non-sport) and I've bought both and supplied them with my car to my local garage which has the car on a ramp (as the current spring is broken) but neither fit.

They called BMW who've said it could be one of several. Does anyone know where I can track down the right one for this car? It's May built 2007, 7 seater.

Any help appreciated!
Andrew

Have you tried using Realoem (BMW parts database on line)?

Use the last seven of your VIN to pull up the right model and then check the front axle pages and your option codes to get the correct year/model/variant.

Mods - this needs to be in the E70 section please

...also thanks for the suggestion with RealOEM but that's also drawn a blank as under the spring it says 'No parts found matching your car.'

MODS - please delete this thread - I've reposted in the E70 forum.

Apologies,

OK after a bit more research you need to use something called the ‘BMW EPC spring table’, use the last 7 of your VIN and confirm options on your car. The spring used depends upon options - so as you have found there is more than one.

You may find something through this link....... and follow the instructions.

That worked - I found the spring calculator which is giving me part number: 31 33 6 773 050

Now I just need to find one (today!)

Today?? :? ....good luck...there's plenty of places do them if you just key in the part number in to Google.
