Help identifying right drive shaft

Post by Alchemist » Thu Feb 07, 2019 10:28 pm

Hi all,

Can someone help me identify the right front drive shaft for my E70? It's a 3.0d se 2007 with adaptive drive.

Real OEM gives 2 part numbers (31607622884 \ 31607553946) and states 1055mm length but many sellers state different lengths (ECP states 1033 for my reg).

Is there a way I can identify the right one before I remove it if it needs replacing?

The first number superseded the second as of February last year and is the right one. The part number ending 946 is marked as ENDED on Realoem meaning it has been updated by a replacement design.

I have found errors with ECP before as their database isn’t as good as it should be, nor covers every variant/option offered. It seems just to have a ‘default’ set.

Current Realoem database was released to Dealers by BMW in December 2018.

Thanks - that's really helpful. It seems not many manufacturers list the new one, but do the old one ending 946.

I've found the old one here https://www.euspares.co.uk/parts/meyle/9534438 and listed as a Meyle which is also the length BMW states (1055mm). Will this fit?
