Rear camber

Post by Themoog2 » Sun Feb 10, 2019 10:32 pm

So on Saturday I had several hours spare so I decided to have a go at getting the rear swing arm camber adjustment bolts out..
I had the car on a Hunter a few years ago but the bolts were stuck solid and on the n/s the lump that the set washer locates against was worn away (?).
So, no messing about - I just got the angle grinder out and got the nuts off. Easy. New bolts in. As for the worn bit I drilled and tapped a 6mm hole so a bolt is screwed in to give the camber washer to push against.
Off to the alignment centre in the week I think. The steering wheel is slightly off and it's been pulling to the left for as long as I can remember. Hopefully it will be sorted now.

Good luck with getting the alignment done, not always easy to find somewhere good, Hunter is always the machine of choice but you still need an operator who knows what he’s doing. I certainly suggest you make sure all you adjusters have full and easy movement. If necessary paint spot then remove lub and refit. Operator then has no excuse.

There are two places by me within 1/2 mile of each other and both I can view or even get under the car with them.

Your lucky then, I’ve moved up North and can’t find anywhere that will let you near and as a consequence I can’t get it set as I want it. It’s within spec but not what I want. I’m down South in April and will probably take it back to my old stomping ground to get it set to my spec.
