Where did you get the brake lines from. They look like they are cut to length??

I think you need to cycle the ABS pump with a magic machine that plugs in to do it properly, if you’ve flushed the brake system don’t forget to reset your brake service clock symbol on the dash as well.

I have bleed the brakes but only have front brakes the rears aren't working, I have fluid but no pressure,
I had a look at other sites and one said to drive up the road and slam the brakes on and this will make the
ABS unit recalibrate then rebleed ,
Jhas anyone done this dos it work ??? How can you check the ABS unit or how do you know if it's working properly, could this been the problem with the long peddle

From all the reading I did before doing mine I got the impression that if you let air into the pump your in trouble and if you don’t have the kit to cycle the pump then you need a good indie who can. Don’t fancy that idea of slamming on the brakes sounds more like wishful thinking. Of course I could be wrong

Yesterday I had mine Mot 'd and I asked them to change the brake fluid as the pedal had long travel. Old fluid was black and now the pedal is firm and good.

Ok still no brakes, had it the garage and they haven't fixed it, what's happening is there no fluid going to the rear calipers they advise me its most probably the abs unit and quoted me £2500 for a new one,

Question could this be the problem before forking out more money, I have no warning lights on.

I wouldnt buy an abs module without proper diagnosis first.

Have a read here, maybe you just need to find a local indy who is familliar with the system and equiped to cycle the abs solenoids to bleed. There are numerous threads online relating to this problem

It has been covered before, by owners who have lost brake fluid through leaks/ blown brake lines etc.
The Garage needs BMW software to open up valves in the ABS pump to enable bleeding of the rear brakes.
Is your garage a BMW indie, or just a normal garage.
If they aren't BMW specialists, may be worth phoning one and have a chat.

Looks like it will have to be a dealer, but the funny thing is the brakes went like this before I had changed everything.
