Under Door lights.

Post by AdamsX5 » Fri May 10, 2019 2:36 pm

Anyone know how to change these on E70.
I bought some to show Bmw logo but when I try to pry them out one side (bulb) side won’t budge.
Also they have bulb in and I assumed their would be a connector which I would plug into the new replacements.
Anyone had a go seems you can only change bulb.. if so I just wasted £20.

Not done any on your model but the others i have changed have all been the same.
Prise out one end it will only come down a bit then sort of wiggle the fitting while pulling it across down and out.

They just pry out from one side and pull down but it's easy to snap the light cover off too they there is a little 2 pin plug on a very short lead .I fitted some but they were a very tight fit and the ones I bought for the back doors wouldn't fit and I wasn't going to cut the doorcard to Let them

They come out at the other end opposite where the bulb is. But when I put screwdriver under fitting near bulb side it won’t budge. Tried to yank it out but at the risk of ripping door card I didn’t want to test it to full strength.
So under the fitting there is a 2 pin plug ? All I can see while it sat inside is a black socket with a bulb inside at one end. The top cover falls off when I try to pull it out.
So you pull down at the end you took out and not pry out bulb side as that’s where it’s catching.

Looks like this and can only come out opposite end to where bulb is but has to get over that ridge so pushing from opposite end to bulb towards the plug /bulb end will help it lift out while pulling down :D
