Impressive mileage but surely very expensive?

After the negative response from one member on my 2009, sub 40k car this should be about 2/6d :)

What was the response you got?

40k is very low miles maybe too low as these cars like to be driven.

Im really surprised that it's never failed an MOT on a 12 year old car with some very high miles.

Currently on my 35d I'm on 176k

Always possible that the owner/s have a friendly MOT station  the mileage is still impressive but that would be a phenominal (and costly) maintenance program to never get a fail :?

I'll not resurect details of my aborted sales post now, other than to say my price was met with derision from one member.

"These cars like to be driven" I find somewhat amusing, it's not like they have a soul :D

I've got a 2007, its now done 149K. It's still going strong and has a yearly independent service.

Lots of advisories though..... probably for lesser things like engine covers.

Most of them are for engine covers and a few for tyres

Only 2k in 2019 so looks like it's semi retired now they used to put advisories about covers years ago to cover themselves with things they can't inspect like propshafts. Wonder if the particulate filter is still working lol wonder if its the original autobox be amazed if it was.
Mine is just about to turn 144k soon 2009 sd.

The high pressure fuel pump gave up sending swarf throughout the fuel system. New injectors, high pressure pump, low pressure pump, filter and heater. Fuel tank rail and lines also removed and painstakingly cleaned.

There was no warning before this happened it simply died whilst driving.

That sounds like a really expensive job. What was the total cost if you don't mind me asking?

Think they 40d has the N57 engine, I have a 35d which is the older M57. Do you guys have engine opionions as to which engine Is the most reliable. Would it be the 30d M57?

They’re both about the same. The N57 engine is more economical and cleaner but it has an Achilles heel in the timing chain being at the back meaning it’s major engine bay surgery (complete removal of the engine) to get to it!
