Hi all
Well after several months of deliberating and searching, I've sold the Le Mans (which I loved by the way) and got myself an E70.
Picked it up yesterday in Tees side and drove back to Aberdeen in it.
All I can say is Wow - what a car! It is a vast improvement/step up from the E53 and much more refined. I'm not saying this to annoy the E53 owners, but merely to highlight that the evolution to the E70 is impressive.
As you can see from my signature, I've had a few E53's and I've loved them all - to the point where the missus is a bit concerned about me!! - but I really am impressed.
Admittedly the decent spec helps - it's a 57 reg 3.0L D SE in Monaco Blue, with Sat Nav, HUD (every car should have this!!), Xenon's, High Beam Assist, Comfort Access, Tow bar and more.
Pics to come, but just wanted to share my good fortune and smuggness!!
Cheers
Tony

Re: Taken the plunge
Congrats on the new car. I also made the change just before Christmas from a Le Mans E53 to a great spec E70 M Sport. Totally agree about how much they have evolved, E53 is still fantastic but E70 moves the smoothness and refinement on a bit.
Answered your PM by the way.

Re: Taken the plunge
Excellent news, hope you enjoy your new motor.
You certainly love your x5s judging by your history,i must admit the e53 is really dated in comparision to the e70 & so much smaller.
Hope you have lots of fun in it.

Re: Taken the plunge
You're right - washed the car this morning with the intention to take pics and post em here. Then guess what? Somebody needed to go to the shops and her car just wasn't good enough.
Going to have to clean it again tomorrow!!! grrrr!!
To follow up on my comments about the difference between the E53 and E70 - the ride on runflats is very "jolty". Does anyone else think the same, or am I just aware that I've got runflats and I'm expecting the ride to much firmer?
Some more comments about the some of the extras:
HUD - love it, seriously I barely glance at the dials any more
Reversing camera - good, but I wouldn't loose sleep if my next car didn't have it
Comfort access - great, key stays in your pocket at all times
High beam assist - absolutely awesome, should be mandatory on all bi-xexon cars
Hope that helps some of you guys trying to decide what extras to go for.
Cheers
Tony
