80k service

Post by Freshy » Fri May 04, 2012 6:03 pm

Hi,

I'm seeing an 75k X5 this weekend and want some info on the servcing.

Can anyone tell me which service is most likely to be required at 80k on a E70 35d?

I'm guessing it will be an inspection II, anything else that might require changing at this time ie discs & pads etc?

Any info is much appreciated.

Not sure the e70 follows the same (now replaced) service schedule of E53 era BMWs (ie OIL, INSP1, OIL, INSP2, OIL ...... etc). As shadrack says, you're going to need to see some previous history and inspect what you can when you see it. I reckon you only know for sure when you hand the key over to the stealers..

Thanks for the replies.. I used to have a 2005 E53 3.0d Sport so am familiar with the service intervals on those.

I guess what I'm looking for is an idea of what the service book should look like for the E70.

Can anyone here give me an idea of what they have done.. I.e. first service 12k oil service, 24k.. 36k.. Etc

I'm wondering if the E70 would have had a major service at 60k or will it be due a major service at 80k.

More bargaining power for me too if it's 80k.

Cheers

If it helps, my E71 said the first service was at 18,000 miles or two years. It's been counting down steadily ever since. Working that interval forward would make the next one an Inspection 2 I think? But it might have just had that one depending upon how it's been driven.

I'm really confused about CBS (Conditional Based Service)

Can someone explain the services below on an 2008 E70 X5d?

20432 on 06/01/09 - Oil service?
35998 on 25/09/09 - Inspection 1?
44431 on 25/02/10 - Oil service?
49229 on 22/06/10 - ?
56690 on 02/11/10 - Oil service?
72680 on 25/10/11 - Inspection 2?

Many Thanks..
