BMW connected

Post by Alanericthompson » Thu Oct 13, 2016 7:21 pm

Looking on the BMW website videos about the connected app, it looks so easy to use! According to the video with the black guy, once you have scheduled a destination you can get in your car and it automatically transfers to the the Satnav. Not in mine it doesn't!! Should it be Bluetooth or does it have to be USB connection.

Not 100% sure about F15 but later E70's you go to messages and the address is there and when you highlight it and click with idrive wheel, transfers to satnav directly.

You need to register on the bmwconnected.co.uk site.

this will let you see if your car has the required software.
download the BMW remote app.

Then like on my X6M I can:-
Lock and unlock from my phone.
Find vehicle location
flash headlights
search on my phone using Google maps and send destination to the car.
Precondition ventilation.
Also worth looking at BMW connected App
lets you listen to internet radio amongst other things.

I also have Deezer music app in the car although expensive at £160 per year I use all the time.
Hope this helps.
Does you car have a cradle fitted for your phone ?

You need to logon to connected drive on the car. It's a onetime exercise as your details are then remembered for future use. Then you logon to the mobile app or web app with the same details. When you send a destination to the X5 its effectively an SMS message which you pick up on the connected drive. One of the options is then to "navigate to".

Yeah it is the same for the F15 - it should appear in messages.  I've used it a few times and find it really useful.

The App is also great for those 'Did I lock the car or not?' questions you have whilst in the supermarket or wherever.  :)
