Playstation 2 in the boot

Which game controllers do the people who have their Ps2 in the boot use, I would like to use the wireless type. Would the following work, or do they only work if the controller has sight of the receiver.

Hi, I have my playstation 2 slim fitted to the rear centre arm rest, so when you pull it down you can change games.

I can close the armrest and have the transmitter out of sight,and they still work. Not sure if they would work if your ps2 is in the boot though!!
