Auto box

I have my car booked in on Tuesday for gearbox oil and filter change is it worth changing the 4 sleeves and bridge seal as well ?? Or just oil and filter thanks

It's not a lot more work to drop the mechatronics bit when the sump is off and there is a seal to the outside that can leak oil too. Means you get another litre of oil out too which can only be a good thing.

This is no help with your answer but how many miles are on your X5 (I’m on 110k) and I’ll be interested to hear how it goes and how it feels after as I’m looking at doing mine.

Got about 128,000 on it and now and again it jumps in to gear but other than that it’s still smooth like new

So I had the gear box oil 4 sleeved and the 2 other bits in the box changed and so far it feels a lot smoother and more responsive next job is to have the dpf cleaned out more money lol

Still happy with it?

I've finally managed to read my gearbox temps so planning on doing this myself very soon.
