Had a search and can only find references to when accelerating or braking. my issue is when coming to a complete stop a second or two later feels like rear axle thuds/ moves forward, as if someone bumped into back of car.
any ideas?

Had this happen on my old e38, needs a gearbox service.....basically you pull up and the thud is it going in to the low gear late.....not saying thats whats the matter with yours but it does sound like it.....

Its caused by the little marbles in the valve control body getting slightly stuck:

I had the same symptoms on a previous E53 (kept thinking someone had gone into the back of me!) and it turned out the be the rear subframe mounts.
