That looks just like mine used too on the nearside. New eccentric bolts cured mine lets hope the swing arm bushes do the trick for you.

Onto the front.. Spacers fit well. Bolts arrived yesterday. I've cleaned all up inside the wheel arches and over the next few days I'm going to remove the alloy engine plate and clean everything. Sad but I'm OCD and not COVID....

And yes - they are polybushed thrust arms..

When I did mine I poly bushed the whole vehicle, working on the principle that when normal bushes would need doing again I wouldn’t be able to do it.

I’m still contemplating refurbing the wheels in a gunnmetal grey but that means they won’t be powder coated but spray painted which , quite frankly, is a bit pants. It may look ok but it’s not the best.
Our Range Rover has had the wheels done cheaply before we got it and I’ve never been happy with them. I may let the pros do them in a few months...
Something else I’ve been thinking of doing is modifying the exhaust somehow to get a lower V8 burble but I don’t know the best way to tackle it. H pipe..?

Under guards off.. One side caliper refurbished and strut partially complete. The alloy under tray came up OK with a bit of polish..

I’m feeling tired just looking. Gotta do that backplate, shiny disc and caliper needs a nice black plate. Haven’t seen an alloy plate that clean ever. Good work, keep it up.

Yes the back plate annoys me to. On the n/s it’s missing anyway so I reckon a new set is in order... I think after the fronts done I may jack up the rear and do the subframe - clean, wire brush etc then paint. May as well as there is fook all else to do..
I’ve remembered too that my driver mirror does not fold in So that’s on the cards too. This X5 is going to be one of the best out there (after all the others I’ve viewed it already is..).
Still got to tint the rear hatch tho’..

Better the devil you know, it will be increasingly hard to get a really good e53. If you have done work on your own it’s probably better than most.plus most things you have replaced are good for another 100k

Right. I drilled out the old rusty bolts for the backplate. Ordered a new backplate and cleaned / painted the hub.

The way your going you’ll have to keep it for ever. You’ll never get what it’s worth.

Hit a bit of a sticky bit.. Waiting for backplate to arrive so can't put one side back together so I thought I'd have a go at the driver door mirror, which for some bizarre reason a few weeks ago will only move up and in but won't go back.
I took the glass and covers off and then the glass motors unit but not sure now. Maybe one of the motors is stuck? If anyone has any ideas feel free to let me know. It's never folded in either.
If it's too much hassle I may just get a used one and bang that on.

Well chuff me.. Ive only had the doors open here and there and the battery went flat.
This happened several weeks ago and I had it tested, which said it was ok. I reckon its toast.
I put it on charge and it never got over 12.51 v whereas the old range rover battery has stayed at 12.61v for months in the garage so that's gone on the car.
Still waiting fir the backplate to show up then I can take it off the jack and then start the rear.
