Hi.
I am looking to swap OEM halogen headlights to OEM Xenon (adaptive, auto level)
I see a few posts with different information, FRM recode, sensor for the level , wiring plug change..
Is there any 'how to' guides that list everything that is needed?
I assume if the wiring is made correct then they should at least light up correctly (albeit without the adaptive and auto level functionality)
Cheers, Ant.

Halogen > Xenon headlight upgrade
I don’t remember anyone doing such to the E70 version of the X5, only the E53 (1999-2006).
Have a look at RealOEM (copy of the BMW parts database, albeit now as it was when BMW only allowed dealer access after Dec ‘19). Use the last 7 of your VIN in the ‘serial number’ box to pull up your variant and then get a list of the part numbers you’ll need.
There’s never been a retrofit kit so no ‘official’ instructions.
An interesting project for sure.

Hi to you too
Thanks for the info. I'm getting the Xenon lights this weekend so I'll report back with how it looks and do a write up as it could help others out
