Hi all,

Does anyone know a good coder that also knows what they're doing with cabling wrt CIC and Combox retrofits? I've got the gear but little idea and though the majority is fitted and working I need help getting this project over the finish line.

Any recommendations based on experience?

General X5 Forum (E70) / CIC DAB wiring
« on: February 22, 2017, 01:27:59 PM »

I've retrofitted a CIC with DAB built in to my 2008 E70 and am now looking to wire up the DAB. I have the DAB amplifier (also does TV) 65206933328 that goes behind the trim on the NS C pillar.

What I'd like to know is; is the cabling from the amp to the CIC just a Fakra plug to plug link, and how on earth do I wire up the pink socket on the amp??

Problems / Fault in Drive / 4x4 system and DSC
« on: October 11, 2016, 11:22:13 AM »

Just wanted to pas on my experience with these faults. I have a 2008 E70 4.8iSE

Fault in drive was caused by a fuel return valve issue. Replacement part was relatively cheap and easy to get at.

4x4 system and DSC fault felt dramatic and terminal. It ran like a bag of bolts, wouldn't go over about 50mph and sounded like it was thrashing itself. No manual or DS selection possible on the auto box. Fix was simply a replacement cam position sensor. Again, relatively cheap part, but labour was a few hours due to the amount of dismantling involved.

Hope this helps someone.

General X5 Forum (E70) / What CIC head units fit E70?
« on: October 10, 2016, 08:24:40 PM »

I've recently bought an E70 (4.8i) 2008 and am looking to replce the dead CCC unit. It appears head units from different models may fit, widening the buying options. Is this the case?

I know the CID screen is different, but only in as far as the surround is unique to the E70 dashboard, but would be ok removing the 8.8" unit to fit in my existing plastic.

Can anyone advise please?
