Re: E70 LCI STOLEN !

Sorry to hear that , you need to find values of similar specced cars for sale as the insurance will be offering bottom "trade" price for it I'm afraid being the sharks they are .... :( Just to present the other side to this view..... A lady who worked for me a few years ago had her Merced...

Re: Current road speed limit sign on dash

Mine just nags about taking my foot off the loud pedal all the time. Most of the time I don't need a car that does that - as I have at least one passenger who does it already.

Re: Anyone had any problems with the latest BMW Connected app?

Mine seems to work ok when I just send it to the car - it appears in the Messages and I can then get it to go into the Sat Nav. The problem  for me was that pesky "Start in vehicle" option in the app. Now today despite using the app last week (and for years before) I've opened the app and ...

Re: Anyone had any problems with the latest BMW Connected app?

Thanks for the replies. I'm a bit wary about using it now, as while I can live with the app crashing its v annoying if it crashes the screen in the car.

Anyone had any problems with the latest BMW Connected app?

So the other day I went to use the app on my phone - to send an address to the car sat nav. I've done this loads of times before but this time I saw the app had been updated and there was some sort of an option to "Start in car". Cool, I thought, presume that means that when I go get in th...

Re: Storm damage

So go for third party only cover. Stick the extra money you've "saved" in a bank account every month. See if its enough to replace your car when it gets nicked / written off by an uninsured or unknown third party. You were offered 85% of what you thought it was worth. If you had evidence i...

I think you'll find the 0-60 for the 30d is 6.8 seconds - though that may still be fast enough for you.

Re: Storm damage

So you gave these guys some money - (a few hundred?). If your car gets nicked tomorrow they'll give you pretty close to what its currently worth.  Seems a good deal to me.

If you really hate them then just insure Third Party only.

Re: X5 Buying Advice Wanted!

The grey colour is great for hiding the dirt! I had one and really liked it. Totally with you on the pano, makes a huge difference to the interior. As others have said, the newer the better - no MOT, less likely to go wrong. Have you driven any? Whether you go for a 30d /40d /50d or even the petrol ...

Is it just me, or does the name "Gran Tourer" bring to mind a vehicle for an aged relative?

Re: Remap M50D

I worked in the insurance industry for 20 years and here's my tuppence: Insurers all have their own rules - and so they differ by company. Most insurers are wary of cars that have been modified (either to increase the value or to increase the performance) and will ask you when you apply for cover. T...

Much more convenient for me to make a short trip to my local petrol station versus booking the car into the dealers.
