More DPF Trouble

Post by Domowilko » Wed Dec 14, 2016 9:25 am

Following on from having my DPF replaced only weeks ago i am faced with the Particle Filter warning yet again.  :'(

I decided to buy the Carly adaptor and what a nice bit of kit this is. Following on from running the diagnostics i received the below:
00480A Particle filter system Engine Motor Control
00481A Particle filter system Engine Motor Control
009D12 Fault in the battery Theft alarm Anti-theft alarm system
009D1F Errors in the tilt-circuit Theft alarm Anti-theft alarm system
00C947 Bus communication error Advanced Crash and Safety Management (ACSM) Airbag

The DPF checks also shows
13.12.2016 16:54:04 Soot mass Ash mass Regeneration requested Average engine speed
13.12.2016 16:54:04 60.000000 0.400000     6.000000                 701.886230

Can anyone with any experience advice on any of the above and possible causes of the errors and why there is so much soot in a new DPF.

Regards

Dom

Looking briefly at the diagnostics i'd guess that your pressure sensor is failing ..... or the pipe running to it is partially blocked

Thanks for that Ian, could i ask how you come to that conclusion. I am keen to start in trying to understand these readings.

The Dpf blocks up due to the car not being able to Regen
This is normally because a component is not showing the correct readings which stops the Regen process

Who advised you to change the Dpf and why?

It was an independent garage. The car had its dpf cleaned in January prior to me purchasing the car in October. It since went in for a check and the readings were to high to force a regen.

I was given the options to replace, clean or remove. I thought i would replace so i new where i stood.

Turns out the coolant temp was not reaching 90 degrees. Thermostats changed coolant  temp has risen and the car is doing a regen successfully when  the soot levels get to approx 40g and taken on a decent run.
